This year’s Spirit of Paimio Conference will be all about the power of people and togetherness.

Under the theme Reimagining Community, the two-day conference brings together leading minds from different creative fields to discuss how Alvar and Aino Aalto’s ideas behind the landmark Paimio Sanatorium - infusing architecture with empathy, community and scientific inquiry - can inform and enhance our present day societies.

Speakers

This year’s conference will feature a distinguished lineup of high-profile speakers. Spirit of Paimio is excited to welcome Beatriz Colomina, Bjarke Ingels, Carlo Ratti, Dan Hill, Ersilia Vaudo, Ferdinando Verderi, George Massoud, Kieran Long, Loreta Castro Reguera, Marco Steinberg, Nicolay Boyadjiev, Oliver Jah, Spencer Bailey, Studio Swine, Yoko Choy and Jean Lee & Dylan Davis, to Paimio.

Program

The conference will take place over two days and will include keynotes from leading figures in architecture, design, and science, alongside discussions.

Bus Transportation
Bus transportation between Helsinki and Paimio is available for both days of the conference and can be reserved along with your conference tickets. As seating is limited, we encourage you to book your spot early to secure your place.

Accommodation
Paimio Sanatorium has limited accommodation capacity.

We recommend staying in Turku, just under 30 minutes from Paimio Sanatorium, or in Helsinki, which is 1.5 hours away. Bus transportation between Helsinki and Paimio is already open for reservations, and there will also be transport between Paimio and Turku.

In Turku, you can enjoy a stay at the Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel, conveniently located in the city center, with special rates for Spirit of Paimio attendees.
